Spatial Data Modeling - Routes, Road Segments, Intersections, HPMS & MIRE

This quarterly meeting of the PFS States will focus on spatial data modeling. Specifically, PFS States will discuss: Building Routable Network, Road Segments, Intersections, HPMS 9.0 and MIRE Data Modeling, including topology, temporality and route concurrencies.

Agenda

• Data Modeling for Transactional Systems of Records vs. for Enterprise Data Warehouses, Databases, Reporting and Publication (i.e., for Systems of Engagement)
• Modeling single/dual carriageways and concurrent routes based on business user requirements: Safety, Travel Demand Modeling, Asset and Project Management
• Roads and Intersection Data Model with MIRE and HPMS Data Items. Accounting for business user requirements from Safety, Travel Demand Modeling and Asset Management
• Building a topologically connected routable network with temporality using LRS Routes, Road Segments (Links), Junctions/Nodes (OGC GDF), HPMS and MIRE data items
